I have a Vizio SV470XVT1A I'd like to fix, but am unsure of which part to replace. The screen has a "flicker", which appears to wipe from right to left.

I've tried doing the unplug/power button reset and also tried turning the backlight setting all the way down. I'm unsure if this would be the main board, backlighting boards, or what. Many thanks!

This is a trace line, in old days this would be a function of the flyback circuit but today it is digital. Could be a bad IC chip may be a poor solder joint. Some components are tough to work with as the controller is small with many solder joints. Sometimes a piece of debris can cause this. Check for PAL setting as this may be off, in the menu. Lastly the timing may be off from a out of spec circuit, clock circuit.

Vizio e43-f1 Screen Flickering

I assume when you say unhooking one of the ribbon connectors leaves half the screen white or black and the other has a picture, if you've replaced he tcon and it didn't fix it your going to find your panel is bad, a main board shouldn't cause your issue as long as unhooking one of the ribbon connectors gives half a picture

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
