Tip & How-To about Health & Beauty

Use Dry Shampoo to Night Before [TIP]

I use dry shampoo quite often for two reasons:

  1. I dye my hair red and want to minimise colour fading.
  2. I'm really lazy.
In the summer months, I don't want to be washing my hair every single day. Dry shampoo gives me more volume and texture, and keeps my hair matte and fresh.
DON'T spray it all over your head as if it was hairspray. Unless grey hair is the look you're going for, then by all means.

DO use a comb to make a number of partings across your hair - spray down each parting, along the roots. This gets the dry shampoo exactly where you need it, and minimizes the white/grey powdery residue.

After having Matrix optismooth treatment done on my hair it won't hold hair color. Every time I shampoo I can see the color washing out. I am using permanent color? Why is this happening?

There are a lot of reasons that hair wont hold dye. One is what conditioner you are using before the dye. Some conditioners have silicon in them and coat the hair to the point that it wont allow any dye to penetrate. Another is the brand of dye, some dye is better than others, third is your hair type, this can be checked by a professional but some hair types respond to dye better than others and you have to keep trying to find a brand that works best for you,

I USED 5RR MIXED EQUAL PARTS WITH 5B. WITH BLEACH FOOLS. WHEN RINSED THE RED ATTACHED TO THE BLOND PIECES AND TURNED THEM PINK. NOW HOW SHOULD I GET RID OF THE PINK?

when you bleached your hair you removed all the pigment from your hair which is why your hair turned pink. You need to use a color the same level you want to achieve but make sure it is an N ( to put back the primary colors ) this is called a filler. after you rinse and dry then apply the 5RR . it helps to rinse out not shampoo joico color esp the red series then use joico cuticle sealer. don't shampoo your hair for 2 days , it should help with the red fading. always use a filler when coloring bleached hair.
