My red light indicating I've retreived my messages will not stop blinking

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. Hi the handset for the telephone (philips) is blinking red and the screen indicates to new calls and i ereased all messages and still blinking with a new calls .any one can help me plz? thank you so much

The light may be a "new call indication" or "message waiting" indication if you have voicemail service from the phone company. If you clear the caller id log or clear the voice message the light should go out. BUT, it will keep coming back on when a new call arrives! I have a similar phone and I just put a piece of tape that matches the color of the phone over the light.

Press the MESSAGES button and look at the display. The light can be lit from another source. One of the soft keys under the display will let you CLEAR the message.

Call yourself and leave a message.
Hang up and wait 2 minutes (we used to say 5 minutes, but 2 is plenty)
Retreive/delete your voice mail message
Hang up and wait 2 minutes

is the nec dsx telephone voicemail light red or green...?
if it's green, it's not the voicemail light, rather, it's the caller id missed call indicator. just look through your missed calls and it will go out... or if you have the admin software, go to class of service, station, and disable the caller-id alert lamp.
