I have a sharp aquos lc-70le650u, will not turn on, power light flashes rapidly 2 times then 5 times

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Try unplugging the unit and hold the volume up and channel down buttons down and plug the unit in. Let go of the buttons and the unit should come on up the service mode. There will be a small k on the screen. With the remote press the channel up button . This should bring up a menu that will show a lamp error line. If the lamp error is = to 5 the unit is in lamp error shut down. Use channel down to highlight that line and the curser right arrow to highlight the lamp error #. Hit the enter button to clear the lamp errors. Now unplug the unit and let it sit for a minute and plug back in. If the unit does not come on by doing this or if it does and you do not find lamp errors the power supply pcb may have been damaged .

the problem is shorted backlight not the smps and main board if the backlight is shorted the unit will auto on n off thats hapen in your tv try to hang-up the wire connected to backlight it will power on

This is very common in sharp tvs.U turn it on.U get power on light stable right?U hear a click,one or twice,sometime tv is good right?Sometime POWER light and OPC light flashes?Push the power button on/off couples times will work, picture will come on.If keep trying off/on couples time after POWER and OPC flashes,don't ever stop and never get backlight and picture.Ur Video backlight board is dead must replaced.

I have fixed many sharp lcd tv's with a reset. If one appears to have no defects like bad capacitors, fried inverters, broken panel, ect. and the power light is flashing steady or not on at all a reset may help. There is a lot of bad information regarding the procedure though. The correct procedure is to unplug the tv, hold volume down and channel up at the same time and plug it in. Release those buttons then push the power button. Did it start? Great! I have no idea why so many seem to need this. If there truly is a problem this will only work temporarily or even momentarily but many will be fixed for good.

i hve the same problem. I turned on my Sharp Aquos lc-32d62u HDTV last night for the first time, but it is black and a blinking green light.
