Power and OPC LEDs flash at the same time, followed by two quick flashes of the Power LED. Set won't turn on.
I have fixed many sharp lcd tv's with a reset. If one appears to have no defects like bad capacitors, fried inverters, broken panel, ect. and the power light is flashing steady or not on at all a reset may help. There is a lot of bad information regarding the procedure though. The correct procedure is to unplug the tv, hold volume down and channel up at the same time and plug it in. Release those buttons then push the power button. Did it start? Great! I have no idea why so many seem to need this. If there truly is a problem this will only work temporarily or even momentarily but many will be fixed for good.
I am in the military and deployed overseas, so parts are limited. But we are a bit tech savy. We have a Electrical Engineer in the office and I am an electrican working on my degree in Electronics Engineering Tech. We have a Sharp LC-52D64U and it seems to have a power supply problem. We get the following code: Power>flash then Power&OCP>flash then repeats. I didn't find any bulging Caps. Will the problem be on the main Power Supply or the Inverter board in the middle of the back of the TV? Thanks!!
Check the power to the inverters if their is a short in transisters it will feed through sense and not allow the power supply to come up. you will hear the relay latch and unlatch when it senses the short,I had a local Tv tech look at mine he was clueless on mine told me to throw mine out, no way after 2 years and $1500.00 decided to look at it myself cost me $20,00 got a board from ebay easy.
