The tub continues to go off balance in spin cycle. Starts out smooth then starts to wobble terribly til the UL shows and shuts down. Support rods are good

It is on a level surface. I have rebalanced clothes still goes off balance. This started out happening occasionally but now it is continuous. The spin starts out smooth then the tub begins to wobble and bang until it shuts down. Can I fix it? and How?

There is a little device inside the washer that allows the agitator to spin independent of the drum. If this gets stuck, the washer will try to spin the whole drum instead of just the agitator. This will cause the washer to think the load is too large or out of balance, causing the error code. On some Whirlpools this device is just a washer.

What does code uL mean. this comes on in the drain spin cycle

Hi, a UL error code means a load not balanced. The washer is running a load-balance correction routine. Please allow the washer to continue. If the dial is flashing and the washer has stopped, redistribute the load, close the lid, and press START/PAUSE.

Whirlpool trouble shooting

All Spin cycles regardless of load or even when unloaded and spinning?
If so suspension is broken.........Technician repair only, even the balance weights in the tub are too heavy for DIY to remove and replace springs

What does error code f 51mean?

F51 error code is a motor rotor position sensor failure or a lower harness problem. You need to check the motor in manual test mode, not automatic test mode. This will check the hall sensors and do a spin test: Be sure the washer is in standby mode (plugged in with all indicators off; or with only the Clothes Clean or Done indicator on). Select any one button (except POWER, START, STOP, and PAUSE/CANCEL) and follow the steps below, using the same button: Press/hold 3 seconds. Release for 3 seconds. Press/hold 3 seconds. Release for 3 seconds. Press/hold 3 seconds.

If this test mode has been entered successfully, all indicators on the console are illuminated for 5 seconds with 88 showing in the Estimated Time Remaining two-digit display. During the 5 second wait time with 88 showing in the display, press the same button once. You should be in manual test mode. If the button is not pressed within 5 seconds, the automatic test mode begins. The Rotor Position Sensor uses Wash, Rinse, and Spin indicators to detect the three hall sensors. Console can have up to two of these indicators on at the same time when the tub is not moving. Open the lid and rotate the basket by hand. The Wash, Rinse, and Spin indicators should toggle on and off according to the direction the tub is being turned.

SPIN TEST: Make sure lid is down. Press and release: 2nd RINSE or EXTRA RINSE. The lid locks and the lid lock indicator turns on. Press and release; SPIN SPEED, WATER LEVEL, or LOAD SIZE. The motor/basket spins at 23 rpm. Press again, motor /basket spins at 530 rpm. Press again, motor/basket spins at 950 rpm. Press again and motor turns off.

Whirlpool Thin Twin randomly skips agitation during the cycle.

Did you ever figure this out? Mine agitates but instead doesn't start spinning and draining unless I open the lid. It then "clicks" and starts but it is strange that I have to do this to get it to spin.

My whirlpool duet front load washer has loose fins in the tub. how do i tighten them??

You're not gonna like this:

Pull the washer tub (see elsewhere on FixYa for step-by-steps), split the tub by removing the screws holding the two halves together, and remove the inner tub. Bend any tabs tighter that hold the fins on, and tighten any screws. While you have it apart, check for grease stains or other leakage on either side of the outer tub, and ensure the inner tub bearing is tight so that the inner tub shaft rotates smoothly and without oscillation. If there are stains or if the bearing is showing wear, replace that (back) half of the outer tub to replace the bearing (unless this is one of the few machines that allow you to replace only the bearing). You don't want to put all this back together, only to have to take it all apart again when the inner tub starts hammering on the inner tub because the bearing went south.

Have an G6A-8E Atwood water heater. It Starts fine and shuts down after a couple of seconds. I can see the diode in the control board continue to spark after ignition I replaced the igniter.

If it has the little thermal cut-off in power wire to thermostat (has a little plastic jacket over it) try removing it, and connect female spade from power wire, directly to male spade on thermostat, and see what happens. Also, make sure electrode is positioned in flame good for flame sensing properly.

The power vent blower on my hot water tank will not shut off.

If the blower continues after the end of the burn cycle it is the cool the heater down. Over running would indicate a defective end cycle temp relay.

Good Luck, Phil
