You can us SD and SDHC cards in the camera. But it is not supposed to record stills. It should record Video or Audio,
The manual is still online. The camera is to complex, to start shooting, without the correct setup. It needs to know where it should write the data, on the tape or on the card and that is not the only thing you need to setup correct.

SOURCE: Message: Memory Card Error - Memory Card Parameter Error on 4gb SDHC card

I recently bought a DMC-TZ3 and have been researching memory cards. Several sites sell cards with the camera and list the card type. I would suggest buying one of these cards. Any cards larger than 2gb must be SDHC type SD cards. There appear to different types of SDHC cards, 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0. Check out Wikipedia.org for a description. 2.0 cards are not compatable for devices developed prior to 2.0 so that may be the reason for the camera problem. So far I haven't seen anything that states what type SDHC card the camera requires. I found a computer memory site that that sells memory that they say will work. There may be others.

I found a user manual online says max memory is 256mb on this camera. Wont recognize anything bigger.

Here's the manual in pdf

SOURCE: digital camara and memory card

Basically picture files in memory card have corrupt data that's why computer doesn't recognize it.
HP recommends following action...
Close the HP Image Zone or HP Photosmart Software, disconnect the camera from the computer, and reset the camera. (can see this at HP Support)
2nd option is to find some memory card data recovery software on internet and use it to correct data files in memory card.
Thank you.

SOURCE: CANOT FORMAT MEMORY CARD ON DX6490

Try to open the files with a computer. Then try formatting it. For that
1. Click Start->Run
2. Type CMD in RUN
3. Then the DOS prompt will appear.then give the command for formatting......ie,
c:/>format H: /fs:fat32
*where c:/> is 'C' prompt
H: is Memory Card drive letter
FAT32 is file system

SOURCE: xD card says needs format, don't want to erase my pics!

Try to use the recovery softwares, the most I use are these, they are paid but are very very Efficient.
1) Active Undelete
2) Diskeeper Undelete
If you want some free ones, google it, you will find many but with not a good success rate.
And make one thing clear, as many times as you will use (Insert, Plugin, Plugout, Read, Write...) the Card, the efficiency Rate will be down and down for getting the healthy files.
If I was helpful, kindly do Rate!
Regards, Waqar.

If this is a new card, it needs to be formatted in the camera first. If it has pics on it, you need to download them first using a card reader if necessary.

Video compatiablity problems

Do not try to use the same card from another camera. You run the risk of losing all your pics and possibly corrupting the card and the camera. Download any pics from the card to the computer using a separate card reader if necessary. Then, if you want to use the card in your new camera, format it in the camera first.

Hi Guys, l have a 16gb Panasonic SD card with all my USA pics and camera footage, when l try to view the pics a prompt comes up asking if l would like to format the card. Is there any way of retrieving...

YES THERE IS, BUT IT TAKES SPECIAL CARE AND SPECIAL SOFTWARE. MAINLY, DO NOT FORMAT THE CARD!! THIS WILL ESTROY THE MEDIA ON THE CARD. CONTACT A GOOD CAMERA SHOP OR COMPUTER REPAIR SHOP AND TELL THEM YOUR PROBLEM AND THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO HELP YOU RECOVER YOUR PICTURES! FOR SAFETY SAKE, THINK ABOUT USING SMALLER CARDS AND WRITE PROTECT THEM AND ROTATE THEM WHEN ON TRIPS, THAT WAY YOU DON'T HAVE ALL YOUR PICTURES ON ONE CARD. OR YOU MIGHT THINK ABOUT USING A LAPTOP TO DOWNLOAD PICTURES TO AND THAT WAY YOU DON'T RISK LOSING PICTURES WITH CARD FAILURES. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO RECOVER THESE PICTURES, EVEN IF IT TAKES YOU JUST A FEW CALLS. HOPE THIS HELPS! IF YOU NEED MORE HELP,REPLY TO ARCLIGHT1217. IF THIS IS HELPFUL,PLEASE RATE! THANKS!

My PS2

Have you already tried the other slot on your ps2?
If you have a different ps2 try to insert the mem card there, if the issue persist then it might be a corrupted memory card. You can either format it or use ActionReplayMaxEvo's tool for formatting if your ps2 is still unable to recognize or read it. I bought that not for cheats but for formatting my 8mem card and made it 32mb after formatting my memory card, for some reasons its like a upgrade firmware for the mem card.

Ps2

Hey buddy FORMAT DISC means PAL games or NTSC games format.

There are 2 formats dics in this world for the PS1,PS2,PSP,Wii,Gamecube.etc

They are [NTSC] and [PAL]

[NTSC] is for North America and Japan ONLY. [NTSC] is Original games.

[PAL] is for Asia Only. Which is copied games form the Originals.

I need to know were did you bought PS2 Console from ?

If you bought it in North America or Japan then you have to buy and play Original games from North America Only.

If you bought your PS2 in Asia then you can play copied games.

It is most likely your PS2 is a NTSC, your PS2 cant read any PAL games so it will say format dics.
