Twinhead A5010 shows blank screen, no sounds after power-on

I have a Twinhead A5010. It worked fine, until one morning. It would not boot. The system comes on With AC or Battery led light and the message/E-mail and CD-rom light is also lit. I tried replacing RAM, CPU and also disconected the CD-rom and floppy and the cooling system still works fine with the fan comming on, but still it does the same. No beep sounds and i also tried connecting a Monitor to it, and at the same time also disconnected the laptop screen. I'm a student at Damelin, Kimberley and do not have the money to buy a new one. Can someone please help.

Have upgraded to windows 7 from XP. no probelms on booting as the max ram for the durabook twinhead is 3G. when it goes to sleep and recover it shows blue screen. Possible causes for this?

Hi,

I found this issue in some laptops. We have 2 options which i used in laptops and its working fine.

1. Increase the Virtual memory of the laptop. You can do this through my tips posted in Fixya. Click here.

2. You need to change the minimum processor power management from the Power options.
To do this go to Power options in control panel.
Click on the Change plan settings.
Click on the change advanced power settings.
In Processor power management - Click on minimum processor state.
chang it from 5% to 100% - Click apply and OK.
Restart the laptop.

Just got cq56-115dx laptop this morning. turned it off after setting it up. Turned it back on and only have blank screen. Power shows lit up.

Hi.

Remove the AC power (charger) and then take the battery out. Plug in just the AC power supply and turn the laptop on, see if it boots up and shows a display on-screen. If it boots let it boot up and then shut it down as normal. Reinsert the battery and try as normal.
If you still get a blank screen can you then tell me if you get any post (splash) information like the Compaq Presario logo before it goes blank.

Good luck.

Blank screen on my HP IQ506 TouchSmart

Hi, you may need to do a system restore with your windows CD or try pressing the ESC button during boot up and select start in safe mode, from here you can restore your operating system to a time before the problem started. Hope this helps

Blank screen. Won't turn on.

You could have an overheating problem. The CPU shutsdown when it overheats and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. Check the CPU fan and heatsink assembly. The fan may have stopped spinning or spins slowly and the heatsink is clogged with dust.
Remove the dust and replace the fan if it is faulty.

Blank Screen

HI there.
Try booting into safe mode by pressing F8 while the computer starts up.
If you can get it into safe mode perform a system restore.
If it won't boot into safe mode please post back.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Screen blank. only pointer shows

It sounds like damaged OS or registry. You need to restore the operating system. Try F8 at reboot and select "Safe Mode".

Will not boot ??

sounds like a problem i had with a philips laptop (which appears to be a twinhead repackaged as a philips)

This might sound weird but it works........

Take the battery out and disconnect from the ac
Press and hold the power button for about 40secs
connect the ac but don't replace the battery and press the power button
then replace the battery and turn it on. it should work
