If you get no television on the screen and the red light is on then I would replace the bulb should fix the issue.

remove front panel under screen, rove screws from lamp access panel cover. then remove the screws from the lamp assembly housing pull lamp housing straight out. install new lamp in the housing and slide the cartridge back into set replace screws and access panel cover.

From what I remember, when you turn on the tv, use the remote and when it asks if you replaced lamp say yes.

no you should not feel any click,the lamp plug
slides into the ballast plug in the groves.do not
force it,you could have the plug upside down or
you need to visually see if the ballast plug is
damaged.you may need to replace the ballast if you still are getting a red lamp error on the
front of the tv.

Make sure that the lamp cage is seating well .. then make sure the door is closed properly. there is a door switch and if the door dont close right the switch may be telling the set the lamp is out.

If you have a voltage meter you can pull the bulb out and check for continuity by placing the probes on the power plugs of the bulb. If you have continuity the bulb should be good, and it may be the lamp ballast.
