The ID/password that you should use are printed on the bottom of the router -- using your E-mail ID/password will not work.

I have 3 computers and on my 2 older ones when I want to log in to my Optus Webmail they have somehow configured themselves to bring up my password (albeit it in ****** form) so that (cont. below)

Usually, your web browser will offer to remember the password or Optus Webmail itself sign-in/login page will have a small checkbox which tells Webmail to remember the password.
The main risk here is that if your laptop is lost or stolen then anyone can read your email and change the password to something else; so, consider that before having the browser or Webmail store the password.

I have a problem with my Facebook I can login for the pass 2weeks

Point your web browser at http://www.facebook.com

If another account comes up, log out of it by clicking the down-pointing triangle in the upper-right then clicking "Log Out."

If you then still can't log in to your account, click the "Forgot your password?" link located just below the password box on the login page.

Can not remember my facbook password i have a new email address that i would like to have this seant to

You can request a password reset by clicking the "Forgot your password?" link located near the "Login" button on the log in page. We will then send you an email with a link to reset your password.

If you no longer have access to the email address you use to log in to your account, or you forgot what this email is, please refer to the "My login email address is invalid or expired" section of this page.

Hope this helps.

I have an optus netgear router model DG834G v5 and trying to set it to work with Telstra Bigpond, but don't know how to.

To bypass the Optus login page type in the address bar 10.1.1.1/CA_HiddenPage.htm
It will ask to disable the Optus login, accept, then close the page, open a new page and type in the address bar 10.1.1.1
And you will be at the router login
Username: admin password: password
Best of luck

I lost my install disc, can I download one for free?

YES. here is a link for you to follow but please read the article here before you download anything as which operating system you are using makes a huge difference to which driver to install. Also, if you are using OPTUSNET as your service provider, you can download the optus driver from www.optusnet.com.au. If you install the siemens driver, it will erase the optus settings in the modem and in the configuration file which is hidden within Windows. If this happens, you will have to reconfigure ALL the settings including your login and password.

No activity on my new speedstream 4200

Ethernet and DSL lights are indicating you have ADSL available on your line, and that you have computers connected to the router.

What has probably happened is that Optus did not set up the new router with your username and password. Go to thw following website for details on how to setup the modem.

http://help.optuszoo.com.au/help/dsl/connected/windows/optus_modems/speedstream_4200

Manual Modem Settings The Optus DSL Broadband self-installation CD configures all the necessary settings for your DSL Broadband service. You do not need to manually configure your modem if you have run the self-installation CD. While the following information is provided for your reference, using the self-installation CD is the recommended method for configuring your modem.
The Siemens SpeedStream 4200 ADSL modem can use either USB or Ethernet to connect to your computer.
  • If you are connecting via USB you will need to run the self-installation CD to install the USB driver before you connect your modem. The Siemens SpeedStream 4200 ADSL modem supplied by Optus has been customised for the Optus DSL Broadband service. Only the USB driver supplied on the self-installation CD will work with the Optus service. If you do not have the self-installation CD, you can download the latest drivers from the Siemens website.
  • If you are connecting via Ethernet it is possible to manually configure your modem without the self-installation CD. Only a web browser is required.
After connecting your modem there are two key steps to manually configure your modem for the Optus DSL Broadband service:
  • PC settings - Configure your computer's Ethernet network interface.
  • Configure Your Modem - Set the password in your modem's configuration pages.

PC Settings Step by step instructions are provided for each of the supported Windows operating systems:

  • Windows 2000
  • Windows XP
  • Windows Vista

Forgotten password on login page

Try looking on the modem itself, sometimes they have their default username and password written on them. Try combinations of "user" or "admin". eg username: "admin" password "admin"
if these don't work and you don't know why you can't log into your modem, try resetting your modem using the reset button on it (or holding the power button for 10-20sec) and then try the above suggestion again.
If you still can't login, write back with your modem make and model number.
