I have been having issues with the cursor jumping when I type a document or email. how do you stop this?
Go to control panel / mouse to open the mouse properties window. along the top of the window should be several tabs. select the tab for touchpad or maybe advanced properties. this tab allows you to adjust the touch sensitivity of the mousepad, momentum, and other properties. adjusting to make it less sensitive may reduce the tendency of the cursor to jump or move on its own. failing that, go for an external mouse!

You need to adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad
In the TouchPad Properties window you can access additional TouchPad preferences.
»To access the TouchPad Properties window, use the TouchPad to select Start > Control Panel > Printers and Other Hardware > Mouse > Device Settings, and then select the Settings button.
(If you follow this path using an optional external mouse, the TouchPad Properties window may be unavailable.)

Hi,
The sensitivity of the touchpad maybe too high, this is a common problem and can be easily sorted.
Go into the control panel and select mouse, there you can set the sensitivity of the pad.
See if that helps any!!!
Good luck.

This happens when your hands get to close to the palmrest and your wrists are actually causing the cursor to jump to another spot. Go to the control panel > mouse> settings > highlight the touchpad listed and select the settings button. Look through the entries and there is a setting for palmrest sensitivity. Turn down the sensitivity so your hands and wrists don't trigger a cursor movement. The hardware and drivers are fine, this is a setting adjustment.
