This is usually accessed from the projector's main menu. Use your remote by pressing 'MENU'. Navigate around each menu option until you find something referring to 'RESET'. (ie: reset lamp, reset, reset to zero)

No remote? - You'd have to use the onboard projector buttons.

SOURCE: Reset Lamp Hours Timer

This works on a couple different Toshiba models -- might work on yours...

Make sure the main power switch is OFF. Hold the "ON", "MENU", and "INPUT" buttons at the same time and turn the main power switch on. Keep them held until the yellow power standby light comes on, then let go. It is done.

SOURCE: reset the lamp timer on PJ506d

Here's the manual
www.aboutprojectors.com/pdf/viewsonic-pj506d-manual.pdf

On page 24 in 'Advanced Mode', it tells you how to re-set to factory settings, and that will probably include zeroing the lamp hours.
If not, there seems to be nothing else there.

SOURCE: Lamp timer reset

Found in the owners manual.

It's important to reset the Lamp timer after replacing the lamp since the Lamp timer
will trigger the warning message. This can be done in Standby mode by pressing the
following sequence within 5 sec.
RESET, Left Arrow Key, right Arrow Key, ENTER.
This is also explained in the operation manual of the Lamp.

Can't reset lamp timer after lamp replacement on Panasonic PT-AE40000

I have a Panasonic PT-AE4000U and could not reset the timer after replacing the bulb with a, non-Panasonic branded bulb. Calls to tech support were not very helpful. It was another bad customer service experience. Through troubleshooting it myself, I discovered the solution was simply to unplug EVERYTHING (serial cable, hdmi cables, etc.) from the device, power it off and back on. Follow the procedure in the manual, the timer immediately reset!!

Mitsubishi HC 900 DLP Projection Lamp Shutdown.

Honestly I would try entering the 'Lamp timer reset' code again. Or the button sequence given to reset the lamp timer.
An issue that may be happening is that something may have happened to the lamp ballast power supply also.
Just a thought.

Lamp and temp lights come on after power up and stay on. Lamp only has 330 hours on it.

OK, that explains it. The bulb you have installed in the projector might be the original bulb that came with the projecoter when it was new. Just becuase it states 334 hours does not mean it is new. In fact, you could have a original bulb with 3000 hrs and reset the hour timer on the projector, which means your 3000 hour bulb might have 3334 hours on it because the person who owned it before you, reset the hour timer.. Best bet, buy a new bulb and reset the hour meter and see what happens. If you have the same problem, then your ballest might needs to be replace which is rare...

Can I reset my lamp timer without replacing the lamp?

That should be fine to do. Even if the projector did alter the current based on lamp life, the worst that could happen in the lamp would burn out completely. A good projector should have a safety circuit with a fuse to prevent damage to any internal components. You should be fine.
