Why doe's it not heat

Cover with the lid and turn the heat down to its lowest setting. Leave it alone - once the lid is on, set the timer and go away! Give white rice 15 minutes and brown rice 40 and use a timer - overcooking is what spoils rice. The best way to test if it is cooked is simply to bite a grain. Another way is to tilt the pan and, if liquid collects at the edge, it will need a couple more minutes' cooking.

Start out with just a few seconds if you are heating something and increase it if it isn't heated through, Sounds like the wattage is high on your unit or you are using too much time. Don't over do it. Just use a few seconds or a few minutes. Don't use the pre-sets if they are burning your food. Just punch in the seconds or minutes yourself until you learn how much time you need for the food you are cooking or heating.

Check whether there is a proper power supply. Look to see whether the cord is connected to a grounded 3-prong outlet and the cord is fully plugged in. If the electrical system is built-in and no power cord is visible, replace or reset the household fuse or circuit breaker.

Yes! Take it right back to the store for exchange, cause could be a bad magnetron "that heats food" and a couple parts that work together with the magnetron,or there may be issues with the keypad, none of these will be cheap to fix.

It is important that you attend a class on microwave cooking as it is important that during the process of microwave cooking it is the conduction in the food -- the molecules are agitated with microwave energy to heat up individually as the vessel does not heat.-
So the TIME and the POWER SET ON THE MICROWAVE is very critical which must be learned.
Start by keeping a glass/cup of water and choosing 1 minute for warming . Now watch and advance the time as you notice the heat building up.

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.

That's how it would sound if you were cooking on a power level less than full power.

If you enter the cooking time and hit Start, it should cook at full power by default and not cycle like you describe.

If you are using some sensor cook setting or automatic type cooking setting, it may cycle like that normally.

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a minute, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.
