I use a Benq LCD projector to give powerpoint presentations. Lately the projector shuts down shortly after powering up. Just before it shuts down the Power and temperature indicator lights flash in red and the lamp light flashes in yellow. Clearly the problem is temparature related but the fan is running. What do I do? My projector shus off shortly after powering up also. I have unplugged the projector, rebooted my computer and even got a new bulb. Nothing seems to work. Is there a short in projector somewhere??
Hi there
Check if your blowerfan that cools the lamp - sits in front of Projector is running.
Had the same problem with PB2140, during startup the lamp went off and power and lamp leds turned on. This happened after the projector fell down. I read a post there hat mentioned it was probably the power supply so i disassembled the projector. I found out that a small transistor of the power supply was torn away but it was still inside the projector. I found it, put it back and the projector works just fine. Thanks!

I have the same problem. The fans are working but the unit shuts off shortly after it is turned on. Cleaning the filter did not help, can you?

After turning on the projector the power and temperature button flash and lamp button turns on. Fans is still heard running
hi.
the problem is the same...after a while the projector shut down and the temp indicator become red and lamp indicator green?
anyone know why that?
regards
sounds like power supply, or ballast.
cost to repair will greatly exceed the cost to replace.
initially the windows front page shows then all picture disappearss and projector reports 'no signal' Tried turning off computer/projector but this problem repeats itself
Optoma MovieTime Digital DVD Projector spins up, then stops spinning, says "No Disk". Tried several other disks and blowing out dust, shutting down and restarting. Fan appears to be running.
My Optoma H56 undergoes a shutdown right after I turn it on and the optoma insignia shows on the screen. The fans are running just fine, so I have no idea why it would shut down.

Have you tried changing or claening the filter?
