Audio driver I have formatted my pc and need an on board audio driver

The GA-7N400 Pro 2 uses the Realtek ALC650/655 Audio AC'97 Codec for onboard sound.

I would recommend that you be sure to install ALL of the basic drivers. This includes not only the audio drivers but the CHIPSET drivers as well. Especially since this is an nForce 2 board. Those boards are rather touchy. Chipset drivers will keep the system more stable and help it to run more efficiently.

Help my driver sound atorend atc7400m [email protected]

I don't have sound

I have tried the drivers from (1) mobo cd, (2) ECS website, (3) realtek ac97 drivers, none worked.
by-the-way, my mobo is ECS GeForec 6100SM-M (1.0), nvidia MCP61S cipset, realtek alc 660 audio chip. i'm using Win XP prof sp2, AMD be-2300 athlon dual core x2 processor socket AM2.
According to articles found through google, few smart people were able to produce sound after their own custom modification on solaris os and ubuntu linux os. (u may chk http://blogs.sun.com/PotstickerGuru/ , and find the word "6100sm").
i often got the windows warning that, "..unable to uninstall, because the driver might be used or needed during the boot process..". so i uninstalled the driver from "Add/Remove Programs"/control panel, then install next/another driver.
if someone could modify the win driver to force it to use 7.1 channel instead of 5.1 channel, even though it is still 5.1 channel, then it might work, (like in the sun os), making driver like that is beyond my expertise :-(
