The player needs a 4-1/2 volt, 500mA adapter. The plug must be center positive. Radio Shack sells suitable adapters. You may also be able to find them at thrift shops or resale stores where they often have a big pile of these adapters.

Find an AC adapter that will put out 9 volts DC at 500mA ( milliamps) or higher ( more than 500mA)
find one that matches the plug on the DVD player

I'm using a Powerline Universal adapter I bought at Walmart. Use the yellow coded plug (+) to the tip
I believe.

Hey this is RaulFixall. You can fix this problem by naking the batteries, I'm mean by taking apart the plastic that cover them. You'll see that the led charging will turn on.

First try and clean the laser with a Q-tip with rubbing alchol on it. gently wipe the lens with the Q-tip. Then allow to dry for a couple of seconds. Try again if problem persists. Try to get the disc spinning wth your finger. While spinning clockwise close the lid and see if it takes off. If it does you have a bad spidle motor and it will need to be replaced. If it does not respond to either. I would consider replacement. The cost to repair by the time you pay a tech and parts you could get a new one with warranty. Generally if these need more than just a cleaning most people just replace due to cost of repair.
