I have the panasonic vcd/mp3/audio cd player and whenever i try to play any type of cd, it says "no disc". i dont think it doesnt feel the presence of the cd, coz it takes about 5-10 seconds to say (no disc)(coz normally, if no cd is in, it says no disc in just 1 or 2 seconds), but it doesnt rotate at all, it just takes 5-10 seconds and then "no disc" what can be the problem???
First try and clean the laser with a Q-tip with rubbing alchol on it. gently wipe the lens with the Q-tip. Then allow to dry for a couple of seconds. Try again if problem persists. Try to get the disc spinning wth your finger. While spinning clockwise close the lid and see if it takes off. If it does you have a bad spidle motor and it will need to be replaced. If it does not respond to either. I would consider replacement. The cost to repair by the time you pay a tech and parts you could get a new one with warranty. Generally if these need more than just a cleaning most people just replace due to cost of repair.
