Keep Tray in eject position

Press Setup from remot

Go to preference page

Press"138931"

Using Navigation Key chane region code to "0"

Press "OK"

SOURCE: My dvd model is philips dvp 3005 and it is in standby mode

my dvd player did the same problem. and i solved this just with a screw driver:) if your dvd player s guaranty finished!! switch off the player and open the screws which r 2 on sides and 3 behind the dvd. open the cover and take off the two group of cables on the chipset which are on the mechanical part side! (mechanical side: dvd driver) than plug the cables again to their socket. its done! close all and go on ! i hope this will solve your problem as mine...

How To Make Region Free:

press Setup
select the Preference Tab
Press 1 3 8 9 3 1
Press up/down key to select "0"
and press Setup to exit.

If you can't get into Preferences Tab, you may need to press the stop button twice first, then press setup.

I would guess that it's an incompatible disk format. If your burning software allows you to pick different types check the Philips manual for a compatible format

It sounds as if you have inadvertantly locked your dvd player. Try using the code 136900. If this passcode is accepted, then access the general setup menu (using your remote) and choose the Disc Unlock option.

Software upgradation

Its called firmware, and you would need it on a disc, you would have to get it from Philips or maybe their website.

Don't download firmware from anyone else but Philips.

Wrong Region message

DVD player must be made region free by unlocking it.. after that you can play all the discs you want.. for ubnlocking it you can try google//
