Installing radios into electronic controlled cars can be a real nightmare as the wrong wires used creates many CPU problems . Best have it installed by professional radio fitters at the shop where you bought the wireless and save your self a headache.

Tail lights and dash lights went out after installing aftermarket radio.

Sometimes when you bring something somewhere, the people can mess up.They don't want to get bad word out on their business,so they say nothing is wrong.I fixed my laptop before, and they broke plastic,on it.We brought it back and they said they would fix it.They used super glue! They said they would install new plastic, but lied. The point is,if they accidentally connected wrong wires,it can cause this stuff. If you smell smoke from it,bad sign.

Dash lights arent working on a 99 explorer, fuses are fine and all the other lights work. quit working after installation of aftermarket stereo

OK, that radio use a straight or constant 12 volts a ignition 12 volts and grounds. now your radio ground might be connected to the park light wires of the car. that wire will should grounds ( - ) but when you turn on the park light it turns to 12 volts to illuminate the dashboard gear shift etc. if that is the case you're wondering where you will get grounds to collect the radio, well the antenna wire has ground, so plug and play, and the frame where the radio goes has metal, which is also grounds. disconnect the black wire from the radio and that wire you can test by turning the park lights on and you will get 12 volts

Silverado radio wiring

Some trucks and gm cars have two kinds of systems one without a amp,and one without so judging by what you're saying you probably have one with a amp so yes you can but it is complicated and you would need to bypass amp so just get the kit that's required for your vehicle.

After Market Radio Installation

Hey man, you have an amplified system. use a 70-1858 wiring harness and jump the blue/white wire from the aftermarket radio to the pink wire on the second plug. this will power on the factory amp with the aftermarket radio.

Aftermarket radio installation without plugs

go to walmart and get your pig tail plugs. they will plug directly into your truck harness. all you have to do is splice the connectors to the radio.

My boyfriend is trying to install a cd player in my '94 cougar and there's this big grey wire thats taped up with the smaller colored wires. he dicided to cut the little plug thng off of the grey wire and...

Generally, the way I put an aftermarket cd-player in, is to use a new 'harness adapter' that connects to the old harness and has all of the wires color coded and labeled for easy installation of a new radio using wire nuts. I wouldn't try to cut into the existing harness, without knowing what was what.

What's the 'little plug thing' off of the grey wire?

2002 Chevrolet Cavalier wiring harness for radio

absolutely not true. when you take your stock radio out of your vehicle there are clips in it and when u take the clips out and the antenna the radio is free when you buy an aftermarket radio from best buy or wherever it will come with a harness for that specific radio now wherever you buy the radio from they probably have a selection of wiring harness for specific makes and models you just buy that and when u take it to the clips installed in the cavalier it will just snap in then the wires on the radio harness will be color coded to the ones on your new harness good luck!

ps i recommend walmart to buy the harness its about $10 there..
