below before connecting them to the OptusNet DSL network. Connection of unapproved equipment is prohibited.
The modem list contains equipment that has been certified by manufacturers as having passed interoperability tests

PICK A ROUTER - There are tons of wireless routers to choose from. Depending on how big your house or office you might have to purchase multiple routers. The current standard in wireless technology is known as Wireless G. It is rated at a maximum speed of 54Mbps with a radius range of approximately 75'. This is most suitable for small homes or offices. Other types include Wireless A, B, and N and all vary in bandwidth and range. Do some more research and find out what might be suitable for your needs.

Step 2PICK A WIRELESS NETWORK CARD - If you set up a wireless network make sure to get wireless networking cards for each desktop, otherwise there'll be no way for you to connect to the internet. Most laptops have wireless networking cards built in, check your laptops manual to make sure.

Whats the exact model # of the Speedtouch?
Well if your Modem doesn't have a WAN for a network cable (RJ-45) if all it has is a usb for connecting to a PC only I hope you have WindowsXP or Vista. Well what you can do is use your PC as a gateway like... What you would need to do is Plug the speedtouch into your PC with the usb... Plug the WAN from your router into your PC's network jack. Now you can go and do the Wireless/Network setup wizard and tell it your using a PC to connect other PC's to the net.

While you have the router connected to your modem, try unplugging the modem and plugging it back in. This will force the modem to redetect network connections.

I think the speedtouch modem do you have is a usb modem connection. The best solution is to call your ISP provider and request that you need to replace the usb speedtouch modem to LAN or RG45 connection. But the only problem you encounter if the internet you applied is personal only sometime they cannot provide the LAN connection to personal connection (like globe ISP).
