Before occuring this problem I was run Scan DIsk & Defregment also after that I am facing this message "Microsoft Excel for Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" when I want to open an excel file. How can I recover it

Try installing your .NET frameworks and other Windows related runtimes.Also try re-installing the complete Microsoft Office package

Exactly as it says, go to control panel, add-remove programs, Microsoft Office - change, but not uninstall. Have your CD ready, ask it to repair. Be ready to download lots of updates after it is finished from Windows Update.

Excel itself is a spreadsheet - You have to install Microsoft Office with Excel to read & edit the Excel files.

You will need your Windows CD to do the following:

1. Boot from your Windows CD (Change boot priority to boot from CD first in bios or use temporary boot options at startup - if your system supports it)
2. When the Windows XP Professional/Home Setup screen appears, press R to enter Recovery Console
3. At the prompt, type sfc /scannow and press Enter
4. Once completed, continue with the steps below

Now make sure your system is free from viruses/malware by doing the following:

1. Remove the Windows disk and restart computer into Safe-Mode with Networking (press F5 or F8 repeatedly whilst booting)
2. Run an online virus scan here
3. Download, install & update Malwarebytes
   
4. Run a full scan & reboot if/when asked.
5. Clean up your system by installing and running Ccleaner

If you have not used it before, your excel might not be installed properly. try cto check if you are accessing excel viewer.

if so, you might need to insert installer disk again and re-install/fix the excel program.

Yes, it sounds like a computer-virus.
Remove the disk-drive from your desktop computer,
and attach it as a "slave" disk-drive to some other desktop computer, and then run a full virus-scan.

Or, just follow "best practises":
* backup your data & music & E-mail & contacts,
* reinstall Windows from trusted media,
* run Windows Update a bunch of times,
* reinstall anti-virus software,
e.g., http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials
* reload your files.

There may be following one or more reasons:-

1. MS office 2007 is currupt
2. System has a virus
3. Windows OS is currupt. (Make sure you are running MS Windows Xp SP2)

Here is the solution:-
1. Scan system with a good legal antivirus
2. Repair OS using utilities win Doctor or from win Xp installation disk (upgrade)
3. Repair MS Office 2007 by going Office Button --> Options --> Resources --> run Microsoft Diagnostics

assuming you have Excel sw on your PC.
Assuming you are running XP.
Assuming you can start your Excel and Open any excel file using File/Open within excel.

You must associate Excel file with Excel program in your Windows Explorer.
Fastest way is Browse to any excel file with your Windows explorer (NOT IE)
Right click and select Open with...
Browse to find your Excel MSOffice program
Select Use always to use this program
OK
