The last Mac OS X version officially supported by that scanner is Mac OS 10.4 Tiger. You *MAY* be able to get it to work under Mac OS 10.5 Leopard or 10.6 Snow Leopard but otherwise there is NO way to get it to work with 10.7, 10.8 or 10.9 since these are Intel only platforms (the scanner software is PowerPC PPC.) Your only option is to run a Windows XP virtual machine inside your Mac and to it that way. I can assist you with that if you like.
Access the manufacturer's web-site: http://support.hp.com
and enter the model-number of your printer, and do the search.
Select "Downloads".
Select "Mac OS".
Select the device-driver.
Download it.
Install it.
Print.
This problem usually occurs when the scanner software crashes, or the scanner is turned off in operation, or the computer is shut down before you quit the software, etc.
The K-M driver software gets corrupted.
I use mine with a Mac G3 Tower and OS-X v 10.4.9. What I do is search for all the Konica-Minolta components using OS-X spotlight and then delete them. After reinstalling the K-M driver software and restarting the mac, the scanner should work fine.
Hello,
Verify with the manufacture of the scanner to see if you have the proper driver(s) for the scanner, also if its compatible with your OS version.
