Tv is new bring it back where u bought it and exchange it for another tv,this tv have problems, with it bubble laser eye data reader, could be bad, that why it not detecting the DVD disc shinning data's surface.
I believe you need to switch the TV to the DVD input mode before inserting a disc. There should be a button on the remote or the TV labelled INPUT or SOURCE. Try pressing this repeatedly until "DVD" is shown on the screen or use the UP/DOWN arrows keys on the remote to select DVD from the input list, then press OK / SELECT / ENTER to choose DVD mode. You should then be able to insert a disc and play it.
I need to check some details for this TV and will get back to you shortly. If the TV really wont accept any disc, then you've bought a lemon and the TV needs to be returned to the store for replacement asap. I will post back with more details below in a few minutes.
Disconnect power and then re-apply. If the disc doesn't come out, then the drive either has a bad drive belt or the eject motor is bad - it'll need to be taken apart to fix.
The laser moves along a track by a set of gears. That clicking sound you hear is the laser getting stuck at a certain point and trying to move forward. The laser has to move the full length back and fourth to read the disc.
There isn't a whole lot you can do, if its under warranty your best of sending it to the manufacture to be repaired. Otherwise you will have to buy a new one.
With that said you could take the cover back off, plug it in (don't touch anything)load a disc and watch it, you should see the laser stop and the gears start skipping over each other. A gear may even have came loose and is no longer spinning or has fallen out. You can attempt to fix this (make sure its unplugged when you are touching the inside).
NOTE:: Do not force the laser assembly back and fourth as you will damage it more.
Post back with any further info or questions you may have. Thank you for choosing Fixya!
