My first guess is that something is jammed inside and is triggering the eject mode.
Have you tried inserting and playing a disk?

SOURCE: The TV and DVD work perfectly but will not eject the DVD

Look next to the stuck drawer and you will see a small hole. Straighten out a small paper clip and push one end of it into the small hole. This is the manual release to open the drawer.

I have a Veon TV with a built in DVD player. I have put a DVD in and now have no way to eject it. The universal remote I use has no eject button and neither does the TV.

If you are not sure about trying any of this Get a TV specialist to look at the TV.
Some DVD players are fitted with an emergency release. Look carefully at the area around where the DVD slots into the player for a small round hole. If there is a hole there you can use a paper clip to eject the Disc.
Try this... Bend one end of the paper clip outwards. GENTLY push the bent out end into the round hole. It won't go in very far, This should eject the DVD.
If there is no hole it gets more difficult.
**DO NOT put anything metal in the slot! Household voltages can and will Kill you!**
Try this... Find a CD or a DVD you don't need anymore as you will scratch it doing this. Grip your spare disc firmly and start to Gently slide it into the DVD slot. When it gets to the position where it starts to grips and load the disc, Firmly pull the disc back out of the player.
This should trigger the load/eject motor. Because you pulled the spare disc out it should create a load error and it should eject the DVD that is already inside the player.
If this doesn't work Get a TV specialist to fix it for you.

How do you eject the DVD

I you can't do it with the Remote control, you might be able to do it on the TV itself.
I'm not positive about this, but there should be a button on the back outer-edge of the TV that may control the DVD player.

If not, here is a link to Download the manual. Scroll down & click on 'Guides + Info' and then the download link.

The DVD player is in constant eject mode - discs will not stay in to play. It has worked perfectly for years. Tonight I was watching a disc, finished, ejected it and put in another and the player just...

Two possible scenarios: First the optical pick up assembly that read the disc has malfunctioned or the eject button is faulty. Either way it is just cheaper to replace the DVD player with a standalone dvd player connected to one the tv input(s). Too expensive to repair just the dvd player if it is tv/dvd combo. The cost for labor and parts is more expensive these days to repair tvs or dvd player. For around $30 you can just replace...much more cost effective.

DVD door won't open

It's likely the drive belt that controls the sledge the disc goes on has perished or fallen off. It should just need replacing.

LCD TV/DVD PLAYER COMBO - DVD WON'T ACCEPT A DISC

Turns out my suspicions wre correct about the DVD player being "sluggish" from lack of use. By continuing to exercise the drive motor by hitting play and eject while simutaneously attempting to insert a disc finally paid off. Now it readily accepts the disc and everything is functioning as designed. Trust me, I'm not going to let it sit idle for anymore extended periods...................baltogas

Panasonic dvd recorder model dmr-e55eb/ebl. played dvd,no problem - ejected dvd - green/blue colouring appeared on TV which disappeared when dvd recorder switched off. since then unable to play dvds. ...

This is a problem with either the logic or the power supply. Without seeing the machine and taking measurements inside, I can't state for sure the exact problem. These are decent machines. I would suggest that you bring it to an authorized Panasonic service center for a repair estimate. Post the results here and we'll suggest the next steps.
