I bought this garmin about a year ago at Circuit City; there was no plan at that time of store closing. It is dead. It won't power up from comptuer, car or home charges. I had trouble with switch early on with it not turning on right away, but the problem seemed to be eliminated until now where it won't turn on at all. Please help; I am a realtor and need a working GPS.
Do a soft reset by pushing the power switch to the left and hold it there for 10 to 15 seconds. The unit should turn on.
I really appreciated the help. I was able to hold the "on" key 30 seconds and my unit came on and started working. I was given another solution of trying to press the reset located on the bottom of the unit where the decal is, but I could not find an opening. Please help me find this reset area.
I will definitely call upon you in the future for help with other matters. You saved me from thinking I needed a new unit.
Thank you very much.

Revpeach, why do you offer the same solution that I did? Really that's rude.
revpeach, you should only answer questions that haven't been answered or questions that have an incorrect answer but to give the exact same answer, you'll find that you will be not viewed well by the other experts on this site.
Judy - You were given the right solution about the reset on the bottom. There is no opening. I never said there was. There is a printed circle with the text RESET on the decal. Also, I mentioned about holding the reset as well.

Thank you. The soft reset worked for me. Until I tried it I was looking at stripping the thing down to find a physical fault. Lucky I did not!

Thank you so much. I will utilize your services in the future.
Have you tried pressing the reset located on the bottom of the unit where the decal is? You need to use the tip of a ball point pen.
Also try moving the power switch to the left and holding for 30 seconds.
