Compatible video card

Any PCI-E video card will work.
Since this is an AMD motherboard,
there is not the Intel "Sandy Bridge" problem,
where the video card uses up all of the PCI-E lanes.
(A Sand Bridge CPU has only 16 PCI-E lanes)

Pci flash memory driver comes under

A) Chipset drivers

Unless there is a specific driver listed.

To explain;

You have a motherboard chipset on your motherboard.
The technology used on the Lenovo 3000 C100 Notebook PC, for it's motherboard chipset; is a Northbridge chip; and a Southbridge chip.

[The motherboard chipset is an Intel 915G Express, that is the Mobile version,

http://ark.intel.com/products/27733/Intel-915G-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller

This motherboard chipset has a Northbridge chip, and a Southbridge chip ]

CPU = Central Processing Unit. Another term used is Microprocessor, or simply Processor for short.
Does not mean PC. Personal Computer.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Motherboard_diagram.svg

The Northbridge chip handles the Faster capabilities of a computer.
Processor (CPU), Ram Memory, and HIGH-speed graphics.

HIGH-speed graphics is the AGP technology, and the PCI Express technology.
It is NOT a graphics card inserted into a PCI slot, nor is it Integrated Graphics.

The Southbridge chip handles the Slower capabilities of a computer.
Anything connected to the;

PCI bus
Integrated graphics.
IDE bus
SATA bus
USB bus
Ethernet
Audio (Sound)

What is a 56k Modem doing in that list? You using dial-up?

At any rate, download, and install the Chipset drivers.

Need guidance in downloading AND installing the Chipset,
(Motherboard Chipset) drivers?

I need the Product Number of the HP or Compaq computer.
This can be found on the back of the computer, in the white Service Tag. P/N = Product Number

Also need to know what Operating System you are using.

[Let's take a look at a Motherboard Diagram, that fits the technology of that Asus K8S-LA (Salmon) mobo,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Motherboard_diagram.svg

CPU = Central Processing Unit. Another term used is Microprocessor, or simply - Processor - for short.

As you can see the Northbridge chip, of the motherboard chipset; handles the Faster capabilities of a computer.
Processor, Ram Memory, and HIGH-speed graphics.

HIGH-speed graphics is AGP, and PCI Express.
A graphics card inserted into a PCI slot; or using Integrated Graphics; is NOT high-speed graphics.

The Southbridge chip of the motherboard chipset, handles the Slower capabilities of a computer.

A) The PCI bus. (And Integrated Graphics)
B) IDE bus
C) SATA bus
D) USB bus
E) Ethernet bus
F) Audio (Sound)

The Northbridge chip of the motherboard chipset, is a SiS 760.
The Southbridge chip of the motherboard chipset, is a SiS 964.

http://www.motherboards.org/mobot/chipsets_d/SiS/760+964/

Chip and Chipset are slang terms for I.C.
Integrated Circuit,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_circuit

Driver: A small piece of software that allows the Operating System to communicate with a device

Device in question is the Southbridge chip.
Operating System is Win2K (?) ]

Hi i have ms 6714 mother board how to know its 040 or 020

1) The Micro Star International MS-6714-020 motherboard uses an Intel 845GV motherboard chipset.

Underneath the Heatsink on the Northbridge chip is the part number Intel 82845GV.
On the Southbridge chip the part number is Intel 82801DB. (ICH4)

2) The MSI MS-6714-040 motherboard use an Intel 845GE motherboard chipset.

Underneath the aluminum ribbed Heatsink on the Northbridge chipset is the part number Intel 82845GE.
On the Southbridge chip the part number is Intel 82801DB. (ICH4)

List of Intel Chipsets, and specifically the one's for the Pentium 4's,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_intel_chipsets#Pentium_4_chipsets

How to know the difference without knowing what part number is on the Northbridge chip?
Easy.

The Intel 845GE supports Integrated Graphics, and AGP (AGP 4X)

There is an AGP expansion slot on the motherboard for using an AGP graphics card.

The Intel 845GV supports Integrated Graphics only.

There is No AGP expansion slot.
Just the three white PCI expansion slots.

What is the square metal grid-looking part in the middle of the motherboard and what does it do?

It is a heat sink for the chipset which is part of the architecture of the CPU Board. You may have two chipsets called the Northbridge and the Southbridge or one chipset.
The Southbridge is the I/O Controller Hub (ICH) which handles the PCI/ISA/PCI-X Bus, DMA, AC'97 or Intel High Definition Audio, Real-Time Clock, Mass Storage Hardware (Hard Drives, DVD Drives), Key Board, Mouse, and BIOS (Basic Input Output System).
The Northbridge MCH (Memory Controller Hub) or IMC (Integrated Memory Controller) handles memory and communicates with the CPU, RAM, BIOS ROM, PCI Express Accelerated Graphics Port and Southbridge Chipset.

Promise SATA300 TX2 Plus PCI controller card compatibility

Southbridge shouldn't matter as that is the controller for audio.
As the supported intel chipset is listed there should be no conflicts.
