Compatible video card

Any PCI-E video card will work. Since this is an AMD motherboard, there is not the Intel "Sandy Bridge" problem, where the video card uses up all of the PCI-E lanes. (A Sand Bridge CPU has only 16 PCI-E lanes)

RAM supported by the motherboard

Take the guesswork outIf you're not sure if a module is right for your system, use the Crucial Memory Advisor tool for a list of guaranteed compatible modules. first you will need to select the manufacturer from a drop down list then select your product line from a drop down list then select the model then click find it will take you directly to compatible ram also you will have an option to scan your system hope it helps

No sound after upgrading to vista from xp, tried

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this right click to install driver also click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the (((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there also click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer hope this helps don

The system reboots on its

When a system reboots on its own thats usually a sign that either 1. Your cpu or computer is overheating or 2. that your power supply is insufficient to power everything you have.
Did you recently make any additions to the computer? upgrades? If so verifiy the power supply is strong enough and you may want to purchase a new one. a 600-650w Power supply should be sufficient to power almost all home computers and can be found cheap on sites like newegg.com.
Check and see if the computer is hot to the touch (be careful). If it is you may need to clean out fans, install more fans. Check the processor heat sync make sure the fan is working. Install thermal paste if you dont have it between the processor and heat synce etc. To cool it down. Also you may want to move the computer out some so it has room to breathe, It shouldnt be stuck in a small/tight area.
One other thing it could be is you could have it set to automatically reboot upon receiving serious errors with windows. You can turn this feature off to see if errors are the cause. to do so (from the Microsoft Site)
Microsoft Windows XP
  1. Click Start, and then right-click My Computer.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
  4. Under System failure, click to clear the Automatically restart check box.
  5. Click OK, and then click OK.
  6. Try to reproduce the error message.
uparrow.gifBack to the top Windows Vista
  1. Click Start vistastartbutton.jpg, click Control Panel, click System and Maintenance, and then click System.
  2. Click Advanced System Settings.
  3. securityshield.jpg If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
  4. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
  5. Under System failure, click to clear the Automatically restart check box.
  6. Click OK, and then click OK.
  7. Try to reproduce the error message.

Once you do this if it gets an error rather then rebooting you will be greeted with a blue screen and error. you can copy down the error message and come back here for a solution.
Good luck.

I just installed a motherboard because my video went out and the Onboard as well as the video card would not connect. I installed a power supply, new memory, new cpu, new hard drive, new video card and when all that failed still I installed a new motherboard. Still not connecting to the monitor. What am I missing? I specifically checked the manual for proper placement of the cmos jumper before I assembled it after reading of other peoples problems with the jumper left in the "clear" position. That's what I get for reading the manual. The jumper was actually placed correctly from the factory. The manual was wrong. -2 eggs for poor documentation and the headaches to find and fix the problem.

Perhaps the monitor is faulty? Did you check that with a device known to work. Listen to Larry though, he is the Hardware Guru here at Fixya.

Where do I start computer upgrade

Your machine is very short of power required for win 10, I would like to see at least 8 GB ram, and a faster processor, yours is at the bottom of tests. Perhaps you should look at a new machine with win 10 installed. You cannot upgrade xp to win 10. You will have to purchase a win 10 license, you missed the free upgrade period.
