Not sure what happen, just quit working. No noticeable burned areas or melted fuses.
Capacitors, in the power supply area. Just about all flat panel tvs use cheap Chinese made capacitors. They either dry up or short. Fix is simple, and tv will be working in no time. A special monitoring circuit checks "ready" voltage, and if it's not there, tv will not operate.
As far as I can tell, all the capacitors physically look good, no bulging tops or melted areas. How do I know if that is the problem?
I'm sorry I have not responded, stupid gmail was putting my legitimate emails in the spam box. Capacitors can look undamaged as well, only thing you can do is chance a replacement on the main capacitors. I have had capacitors that look undamaged, and replaced them and viola, tv works. It's just intuition sometimes. Something will tell you if a component is bad, go with that first hunch. Usually, you'll be right.
