Windows 8 is not very friendly with much. you will most likely have to upgrade your devices to windows 8 compatible ones. The only other thing I can think of is a patch in software, firmware upgrade on devices not working or an emulator of some kind if they exist for you products.

SOURCE: Purchased new Iomega 1 TB Home Media network HD,

you have to initilize the disk in disk management utility, heres how (windows XP)

  1. Click on Start and then Control Panel.
  2. Click on the Performance and Maintenance link.
Note: If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Just double-click on the Administrative Tools icon and skip to Step 4.
  3. In the Performance and Maintenance window, click on the Administrative Tools link located under the or pick a Control Panel icon heading near the bottom of the window.
  4. In the Administrative Tools window, double-click on Computer Management.
  5. When Computer Management opens, click on Disk Management on the left.
In a few seconds, Disk Management will load on the right side of the Computer Management window.
Note: If you don't see Disk Management listed, you may need to click on the + icon to the left of Storage to expand the option.
  6. You can now format a hard drive, change a drive's letter, partition a hard drive, or do whatever else you need to do in Windows XP's Disk Management tool.

SOURCE: I don't know how to make a wireless connection

Make sure you are at least using a CAT 5 cable with your device. You will want to do a couple things as well. Give your device a static IP address (manually configure the IP) from withing the devices interface (login to your device, System tab on the left and Network tab on the right). Next go to your folders you are wanting to share and click the DLNA button that corresponds with the folder you are wanting your media server to share out. You should be good to go.

SOURCE: my iomega network drive just decided to not show

Reboot the network drive and the router, this usually works when mine doesn't show. You may need to disconnect any mapped drives, as it may show with a new ip address. Computer may also need to be rebooted.

I have a 100mb data disk that I'd like to convert into a CD rom - I don't have an Zip Drive (1990) anymore - would there be anybody who could do the conversion?

I can't do the conversion for you but have you looked on eBay or something similar for an external Iomega Zip drive? These can be connected to your existing computer via USB. Use caution though, I don't know how well the Zip drive will work with Windows Vista or Windows 7 or any Mac computers.

I have a iomega screen director 1TB. I can connect to windows 7 from a desktop usb to iomega. However i cannot access iomega wireless or wired in lan network. Pls help..Tyrone

Make sure you are disconnecting the USB from your computer before you try to access it.
WIFI - If you have 128-bit encryption, you will have to change it to wpa-psk or wep 64-bit.
Wired - Check your network setting on the device. Make sure that it is getting an IP address from your router or switch. If you keep getting an APIPA address, try manually configuring the IP to your subnet.
