VR3 cd 400 where to get wiring plug to go in back of player

I am installing in a base-model 2007 Dodge Caliber SE. I connected all the radio wires. I connected the red / black / yellow wires to the corresponding ones on the harness. The unit has power as the face opens and closes. However, i can't get it to power on. Does the brown wire need to be connected first? is the thing broken? where do i get the wiring plug for the back of the player

Do you need a wiring harness for the back of the unit? All you have to do is google "wiring harness for vr3 cd400 and you will have allot of options to choose from. If you connected the red which is 12v +, yellow connects to 12v for radio memory, and black goes to ground. Brown is for external amp turn on. Check to make sure your connections are correct. Do you have an adapter harness that plugs into the factory radio harness? You can get one from Wal-Mart or best buy or online. So you don't have to cut/splice into the wiring harness coming from the stock radio.

Different wiring plugs

If it were me, I'd cut off the connectors and switch them, but I solder things every day. I don't think they make any adapter wiring harness for this problem.

WIRING CHANGE FOR 2002 DODGE CARAVAN

Your best bet on that one is to go to a place that sells car audio systems or even some autoparts retailers have them, and get the proper adapter harness already made up. A few more dollars but, a whole lot less headaches.

Wiring difference

If your installing a stock radio/cd player from another Dodge the wiring plug is the same and will fit.If your installing a aftermarket radio/cd player(JVC,Pioneer, etc)you will need to buy a adapter plug that wires up to the radio and is a direct fit to your factory wire harness,so your not cutting your wires. When you buy the adapter plug it comes with a wire diagram of which wire is what.Your aftermarket radio should have a diagram also, either on it or in the manual.Hope this helps you.

VR3 640g roadmaster won't "power on".

Sounds like it is broken. If you have the power wire hooked up as you said it should be working fine. Not sure which browm wire you are referring to but it should work regardless of that.

Vr3 installation

it's supposed to go to the wire of the parking brake that is grounded with the parking brake on. This wire disables the dvd video so it can only be watched with the parking brake set. On mine, I just connected it to the black wire so it is able to play video all the time. Or you could run it directly to ground, same thing as connecting it to the black wire.
