  • Disconnect the oven's power supply by turning off the breaker in your home's service panel.
  • 2 Open the lower oven door. Remove the screw at the bottom of the trip panel on each side of the oven.
  • 3 Pull the trim away from the oven approximately 2 inches, then slide the trim panel down to remove it from the oven.
  • 4 Remove the screws from the bottom sides of the control panel.
  • 5 Pull the control panel out from the bottom, then lift the panel to remove it from the front of the oven.
  • 6 Detach the wire connectors from the control panel by depressing the tab on each connector and removing it from the control panel.
  • 7 Depress the tabs on the thermal fuse wire connectors, then remove the thermal fuse.
  • 8 Attach the wire connectors to the new thermal fuse to install it in the control panel.
  • 9 Reassemble the oven by reversing the steps used to take it apart.
  • 10 Restore power to the oven.

Noisy fan and no heat

Kitchen aid is made by Whirlpool. There is a very good chance the then thermal fuse on the back of the oven has tripped. Whirlpools are very prone to this fuse tripping after a clean cycle. The noisy fan is just that a noisy fan it will probably need replacing. I have replace a couple of them over the years. When you pull the oven out to replace the thermal fuse replace the fan motor at the same tiome.

It is a free standing kitchen aid oven. I put it on quick self clean and it said it would end at 2:00. The panel went blank at 1:20 and it is past 2:00 and it is still locked. I checked the circuit br

Unfortunately KitchenAid ovens notoriously blow a thermal fuse when you use the self cleaning cycle, and if you're lucky that's all that happened. Hopefully your oven is still under warranty. If so, call KitchenAid customer service and they will repair it for free.

If you're handy you can check/replace the thermal fuse yourself (requires pulling out the oven and taking off the back panel, finding and replacing the fuse- be sure to turn off power and gas first).

there is a thermal fuse in the back or on top of the oven that is blown. its designed to blow if the oven gets too hot. you will have to remove the oven from the wall to check it. thats probably why kitchen aid wants to send someone out.

Kitchen aid oven blackout after using self clean. Waiting for repair. $100.00 service call. $ 70 part fee. From what I read on the internet this will just happen again. Anyone know of a way to solve this...

this is probably the thermal fuse replacement fix (see my other posts for easy replacement directions)..

i'm sure kitchen aid wont recommend this but if you slip a thin piece of cardboard or non combustable insulation material between your replacement thermal fuse and the oven wall, you may not have the problem again..

good luck

p.s. i'm trying to source an auto-resetting thermal fuse for this application... if i find one, i'll post knowledge for everyone..

THERMAL FUSE BLOWN ON KITCHEN AID KCO100508 TOASTER OVEN. WHERE CAN I BUY A REPLACEMENT ? This Thermal fuse [ 206 degrees C ] is a ceramic housing mounted to a bracket near the oven wall. It contains a...

Thermal fuse is a one time safety device, order by specification. My Kitchen Aid toaster oven has one on the side with the controls marked 206c for 206 degrees Celcius when it blows, and marked with a part number that when Googled was found to be 2 amp. The fuse blows in this sequence: temperature first, then if that fails the regular fuse action will kill the circuit at 2 amps. I called electronic supply places around Los Angeles. $1. 25 later I have my part. Mouser electronics carries them for .44 cents. Placed the new one on the ceramic base of the old one, and am back to using my favorite toaster oven. Will not be using it for broiling again - that is when it got hot and quit on me.

Kitchen Aid Superba Double Oven

Remove the oven from the wall. Remove the rear panel.
The upper and lower ovens have a non-resettable thermal fuse that has blown.
Use a VOM to verify which fuse. After repair use Easy Off, not self clean.

Kitchen Aid Double Convection Oven stopped during Self Cleaning

same thing happened to me yesterday took all day to figure it out was the themal fuse on the back of the oven the part number for my kitchen aid is 8300802 if you want the doors to unlock and reset the display you can take the leads off the fuse touch them together and the door will unlock however it is best to change the part took me 5 minutes once i knew what to look for
you have to remove the back panel and you will see the part with the number on it cost me 50 dollars but better than the 8o bucks to have a sevice guy come and do it next time i self clean i will pull the stove away from the wall to help keep it from ver heating
