You can hard reset the phone but it will erase everything including downloaded data, settings and contact and phone will restore to factory default.

1. Power off the phone.
2. Press and Hold the Center Select Key, while powering up the phone
3. The MASTER RESET screen will appear
4. Press Yes.
5. This will restore the phone to factory settings.

On the Motorola it is called a Master Reset, which will bring it back to factory dafaults & Master Clear which will clear all user data including contacts pictures etc. Now all you need is one of the resident Moto experts to let you know the "how".

If there's nothing wrong with the phone just do a master clear. Its burried in the settings menus somewhere. I think under "Initial setup". If you can't find it let me know. I can look on one of my Motorolas when I get home tonight.

The only thing I know of is to call the phone service provider you are with and see if they can give you a master password to unlock it. Or you could always do a master reset, but you will lost any info stored in your phone.

1. Power off the Q
   
2. Press and Hold the Center Select Key, while powering up the phone
   or
   Press and Hold the Z & E keys, while powering up the phone
   
3. The MASTER RESET screen will appear
   
4. Press Yes
   
5. This will restore the phone to factory settings
   

YOu need to goto your system Tools folder and select the master reset. it should be the same folder that your task manager and memory manager is in. I just had to reset mine for the same reason. you should back it up on your CPU first befor you reset it or you lose everything

To Perform a Master Reset or Master Clear:

3. Scroll to and Select either Master Reset or Master Clear
4. Press Yes (Left Soft Key) when Alert appears
5. Enter Master Code (normally 000000)

mine has done this many times and i had to master reset it.
turn the phone off. turn the phone on. hold down the center button when the M shows up. then hit yes when it asks for master reset
