Need a Video Mount

I recently inherited a All-Purpose Video Tripod by AMBICO Model V-0552.  The tripod is in beautiful shape but the quick-release camera mount is missing.  Do you know where I can find one?

Thanks.

I have a Vivitar V-2200GX and lost the part of the latch-in mount that screws to the bottom of the camera. I would like to buy a replacement for the lost part. Please let me know at [email protected] if you know where to get a replacement. Thanks!

possibly try http://www.tripodquickrelease.com/Ambico_Quick_Releases.htm

I have a Ambico Onyx Videophile V-0541 that the quick release plate is missing.  The square one shown on the above web page appears to be the one I need / want.  F.Y.I., I have a older Samsung Tripod that the quick release plate is a few hairs to small.  The camera bounces / moves slightly when I use the Samsung QRP in the Ambico Onyx Videophile V-0541.  Any who it appears a new version of the Samsung is sold at Curcuit City, if that will help any one.  A little putty may keep the QRP from moving.

Looking for quick release camera mount for ambico v-0552

Try www.TripodQuickRelease.com for that part. There is listed the widest selection of quick releases and support more brands than any other web site I've seen. Because your tripod is not supported by the manufacturer; parts lists and pars are not available, you should measure the opening and see what other brand quick releases will work paying attention to the shape and locking mechanism. Otherwise just get another tripod.

How to put a camera on it

If it's a quick release tripod you need to remove the quick release plate (Usually a release lever to the side of the top of the tripod) and then fasten the plate securely to the camera and then the plate to the tripod. Older non-quick-release tripods have a knurled screw located below the flat area where the camera is attached. If the screw is missing, get a relacement from your local hardware store - 1/4" -20. (Find a way to keep the new one from getting lost.)
