version 1 or 2 (hardware ver)?????????????? they are not the same.
    why not ask the DIRECTLY.
1: gigabyte told you it works !
2: there QLV list shows it
3: the chipset allows it and pin count same PGA
4: BIOS like IT and clock rates onboard allow it. BIOS updates may add more CPU support.
5: the new CPU does not overheat or overload the CPU VRM power regs. oops./

max may be Q6700 (quad core)
and all these but only they know, this, the designed it.
not good ever is this SiS IDE chipset.
with useless Mirage SIS graphics. chip.

NOW I GO THERE FOR YOU AND CLICK CPU QVL
    V1:https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-...

    P4-Prescott 3.4G
    IS MAX.

V2 MOBO DOES, i bet yours is V2.
Lamed out by the latest SiS 661FX/964 GPU chipsets, and Gigabyte's R&D expertise, GA-8S661FXM-775 (Rev 2.0)
always run neg x16 GPU card so newest w10 can run here.32bit if lucky

    Core™ 2 Extreme QX6850

off the main support page it states

    Supports LGA775 Intel® Pentium® 4/ Pentium® D* processor FSB800 with HT technology
(PS:"*"Supports Intel 805, 820,920 and lower frequency; Intel 805 only support FSB 533)

v2 chip set is show here
    https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-...

version 2 as you can see is far better
    SIS is never good.

Here is a compatibility list: Compatibility list Gigabyte GA-8s661fxm

The E4500 which is very similar, just slower clock speed is supported. I cant guarantee it would work, but I'd make a bet in the favor of yes.

Testimonial: "Great,it's worth the effort to try then, Thank you!!"

Select a RAM combination manufacturer to expand a list of Intel Pentium Dual Core E5500 2.8GHz Processor compatible RAM combinations.
Most RAM is compatible with most CPUs, assuming you have a motherboard that will fit both.

SOURCE: what processor speed can fit my motherboard GA-75748?

Motherboards designed for AMD processors have radical differences in design from those designed for Intel processors. The most obvious of those differences is the socket which accommodates the processor, which is totally different in both case.
This means that you cannot use an Intel processor on a motherboard designed for an AMD processor, & vice versa. You have to replace the motherboard with one designed for the Intel processor you plan to use.

Will an Intel E7400 processor work with an MSI P965 Neo F V2?

Your processor "Intel E7400" is listed as a socket 775 Intell core 2 duo processor. Your motherboard "MSI P965 Neo F V2" is listed as an Intell board using a socket 775 processor socket. The front side buss (or fsb) speed capabilities of the mother board, and the buss speed of the processor are compatible They should play nice with each other.

Good Luck!
