I know this response is way late, but it may help someone else down the road. You only have 8 wires on the KE-1818 because it only has wires for left and right speakers, not left-front, left-rear, etc. Orange: Constant 12v
Red: Switched 12v
Black with spade terminal: Ground
Gray: Left +
Gray/red: Left -
Green: Right+
Green/Red: Right-
Black in the harness: Beats me. Illumination maybe?
Blue: Amp control wire

From the factory wiring there will be a red/white wire with a constant 12v and an ignition switched 12v wire which is red/gray. Hook those to corresponding wires on the aftermarket wiring harness. You may have the constant and switched wires backwards. Also the antenna trigger wire (usually blue on aftermarket radios) should be hooked up to the green/red wire on the factory harness.
For a complete wiring schematic check out www.the12volt.com
the problem is you dont have the battery wire on the radio hooked up to a 12v constant. it sounds like you have to take the battery wire of the radio and hook it up to a wire that stays 12v all the time even when the car is off.
in most cases the wiring is already there, it is cheaper for the manufacturer to use one harness than many different ones, I know this is true on GM and Ford, should be the same with Chrysler products as well.
