Code f61 I have a home theater sound system make Panasonic mod: sa-ht740 showing code F61. The problem is that the unit won't start up. It shows the code for a few seconds and powers down. The manual suggests a problem with the speakers, but they're all disconnected and still doing the same. Can you help determine if it's worth repairing?

The f61 code is an audio code for panasonic first make sure all connections are correct and tight for spearkes...at the base if unit has base and with connections in back of unit and are fully in to connection terminal...make sure speakers are on and not on mute ...sometimes though you may have to re strip the wires to get into connection termianl in the back of the unit if that does not work call panasonic 1-800-211-PANA(7262) for more technical support

I have a SA-HT545 DVD home theater sound system and it shows F61 error. How can I fix this?

The F61 is the Panasonic code for protect mode. See the link below for an explanation of protect. In your case, there is an output amp pac that has failed. The cost for this ranges from $75-$100 for the part. Please update this if you are interested in repairing this unit and I'll get the exact parts required.

PROBLEM F61 ON MY EQUIPMENT AND SHUT DOWN

You possibly took out the output ic by crossing speaker wires or touch one to the case when the other was in the terminal. (turn off and unplug when moving speaker wires)

Before taking it in remove all wires unplug power cord wait 30 seconds and plug just the power cord and turn on. If it still goes to f61 it's going to most likely need the output ic replaced.
$70-90 labor and about $100 for the part.

Error Message

The F61 indicates a problem detected in the output amp stage and the unit us shutdown to prevent further damage. If you can supply the model number, I can give you the part required and the approximate cost.

F61

Output IC is defective. Not much to do except have the main unit serviced.Output IC is rather costly. Before taking it for service, disconnect all speakers and power on.In F61 comes up IC is definetly bad.If unit works reconnect 1 speaker at a time(with power off) and retest each time.Repair bad speaker .
