Question about Delstar DS 917 Digital Media Player
Are you sure it isn't just your earphones, try some other earphones if they don't work as well, your best bet is to send the mp3 player back because this sounds to me like a component failure.
On the safe side just send it back because if you try to manually open it up and do anything you could do more damage to it than there orignally was.
