Hi Darlene, The link below is a bosh dishwasher error code AND how to fix, I hope this helped..........CHEERS.. Bosch Dishwasher Error Code E22
Fault Condition: Residual water in sump
Repair or Check: Check for a blocked pump, a dirty filter, or grease build up.
Parts Required: Pump or clean filter
That is the drain pump that is running, and it indicates that there is water in the base of the unit. You will need to unplug the dishwasher and pull it out. You can tip it forward to drain the water out of the bottom through the holes in front. Have some towels ready to catch the water. Now if you plug the dishwasher back in, the pump should not run But now comes the hard part - figuring out where the leak is coming from and fixing it. It could be from a hose, the drain pump, or the main pump. Bosch dishwashers are notoriously hard to work on, so I recommend calling in a professional DW repairman.
Bosh dishwashers work off a gravity pump system. They sometimes require a stronger pump. Make sure if it has a air gap either at the top of the sink or johnston T or in the wall that, that is not plugged. They are very sensitive to how the drainelines are set as well. If it was installed prfessionally, call the installer back out as they should warranty there install for 1 year. Also all products have a 1 year MF warranty as well. You should be able to get a BOSH tech out at NO charge to see if it is a deffective pump.
Does it make the same noise when it's just filling or just when the motor starts? Usually just filling the dishwasher opens a valve and doesn't run the pump. If it makes noise during filling the valve may be getting hot and shorting, or may have a loose connection, or air may be in the water supply line causing the valve to bounce. If it takes a long time to fill the filter may be clogged.
