Also send this to your family and friends so they have their computer setup properly.

Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.

After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/) set it up as follows:

  1. Go to Tools, then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
  2. Then click on the Video Settings.
  3. The camera if Installed Properly will come up and show a video picture.
  4. Then, on the bottom of the page click on Save.
The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able to see and her to you.

  1. Windows Live Messenger:

  3. Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on “ “Action.”
  4. Go to “TOOLS” and click “Audio and Video Setting” and follow the instructions.

Microsoft lifecam cinema won't work with windows xp, downloaded updates still no joy any solutions to why this kit wont work? Keeps coming up send error report. When opening the camera via my computer...

I have the exact same Camera....... and I have gotten it to work on Windows XP just fine.....
here are a few troubleshooting tips to help you figure out if its just settings
1: go to another application that can use a webcam (ie: MSN messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Facebook) and see if the Cam will work.
2: try downloading alternate software to manage your webcam ( http://www.manycam.com/)
if the above two options dont work with the webcam.. it may be the cam itself.

Cam wont work om windows live but works on my yahoo account

Test your webcam here to make sure it broadcasts ok - Hit 'Allow' in the top window and check your cam in the left hand panel.

http://www.testmycam.com/

Having proved your cam is working ,you can configure it to WLM (MSN)

CONFIGURE SOFTWARE to MSN
Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start - if you have been using it elsewhere the MSN software may have difficulty in locating it, even if you exited the previous program correctly.
The reason being, the webcam software can remain hooked-up to a program and needs to be rebooted.
Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in to reboot the software.
If yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.

Open MSN
Click 'Open Menu'
From 'Tools; navigate to, and click, 'Audio and Video setup'
Set your speakers
Click 'Test' - if OK, move on.
Set your mic as default
Use the slider to set volume and test.
Click 'Next'
This takes you to the video setup
Your webcam should be broadcasting - if not - make sure the webcam is set as default - restart MSN
Use 'Webcam Settings'to fine tune the picture.
Click 'Finish'

My dells webcam wont work on msn,

If the web cam is working normally with other web cam applications but MSN then it's required to configure MSN to use the web cam. Please follow the steps given below to configure MSN to use the web cam.

(i) Please ensure that the web cam is turned ON.
(ii) Then, double click the MSN icon and log on.
(iii) Click on the Tools menu, then click on the audio/video tuning wizard. Then, click Next to start the wizard.
(iv) On the first wizard page, under Camera, click the web cam then click Next.

Performing all the above steps will configure MSN to use with the web cam.
In order to start a video conversation, follow the steps given below after signing in MSN:
(a) Click Action, then point to audio/video.
(b) Then, click start a video conversation.
(c) Select a contact from "My contacts" page then OK.

I have a dell laptop and i have a bulit in webcam, i go on msn and my cam wont show when i'm trying to have a video call with someone...i need my cam to work on msn, how do i show it on msn ?

Open the MSN messenger program and click Tools and Options and there should be an option somewhere on there that allows you to choose your webcam.

If that doesn't work, check Start--> and right click on My computer, then click Manage.

Under there click Device manager and verify there is nothing that has a Yellow exclamation point next to it. If so that means that the drivers are not installed and we will have to reinstall them to make the computer recognize the webcam

Dell webcam manager working with msn messenger?

if you have the webcam center opened along with with msn then it wont work on either one of them.
you can try these steps tp check if it works for you or not.

1)look for the web cam center system tray icon and right click on it if its there and select exit

and as u said u cant see you self in web cam console --- in webcam console you can only see your self under the doodling tab and only of your webcam is working at that i.e

either you have the webcam center opened or any other messenger or software which turns on your cam then only ull be able to view your cam in webcam console alongside.

Dell webcam manager working with msn messenger?

as ive told others, make sure u actually turn off the software program that came with the computer before using with msn! u should be able to have it on while using it but for some reason some computers wont allow it! it "tells itself" that there are 2 programs trying to run the web cam when really only one is.
but because the program is on, it sees it as being used in 2 places at 2 different times!

try turning off and exiting the software (dell webcam manager) and then go onto msn and try using ur web cam!! make sure the dell manager is exited, then when u have a msn window open, turn the cam on and see if ur friends can see u then..

good luck..
if this doesnt work ill check back and see what i can do for you!

Toshiba Satellite A200-AH5 Troubleshoot

The type of pc is not as important as the type of webcam at this point. The story also needs more details.

If you had a Logtec webcam and at first it only worked with its custom made software, what did you do to make it work with MSN?
----------------
Based of the info provided, I would
1. uninstall all cam software while the cam is unpluged,

2. Reboot the pc. Then plug the cam in.

3. When windows detects the cam, it will ask for drivers, do not click on search on windows update website, click the option to choose from a specific location and then browse to the cd provided.

4. Try and load msn now. The msn website or the cam company sometimes have a patch to make the cam and the messenger work together. I would check the cam website before looking around the microsoft site.
