Bushnell 400 rangefinder won't show yardage

My screen shows up, but never will display the yardage. I have tried to figure out how to open the unit up, but can't find any screws accessible from the outside. Any ideas how to crack this thing open?

SOURCE: bushnell 400 rangefinder won't show yardage stuck on 888

If the unit is stuck on 1888 the circuit board inside has lost its programming. Sounds like its about 10+ years old. Bushnell doesn't work on them anymore. If you use it for hunting I would suggest the Scout 1000 with ARC compensation, if you use it for golf look at the Medalist. You can see them both at bushnell.com

The hunting rangefinder will run about 250 bucks
The golf rangefinder will run about 220 bucks.

Both use advanced target locking systems.

I have the Bushnell yardage pro 450. It has a new battery and will not show yardage or it sometimes flutters the number but you can not read it. Sometimes it will show partial numbers!

I went to another website and read the reviews of other owners of Bushnell products, this is a common problem from Bushnell products. The fix is to buy another or try to get them to replace it, they should recall everyone of them and give refunds or new rangefinders. I found all this out for free, thank you very much!!!

No yardage displayed

The rangefinder is out of alignment. Vibration, dropping these units make small mirrors inside move slightly. Over time the receiver cannot see what the transmitter puts out. Bushnell can fix, 4-5 weeks w/o unit.

Yardage does not shows up at times

First, make sure you are using alkaline batteries only. Heavy duty batteries don't generate enough current for the laser to operate properly. (pg4-para2 of the manual) If the rangefinder hits targets 120 yards or less and doesn't hit targets farther....the unit needs an alignment. Send it in to bushnell, they will repair it.

Bushnell Tour V2

This happened to me on the first round of use. I replaced the battery and it worked fine. I guess the battery that came with the unit was not very good

Error code er6

Take the nice cover and neck strap off rangefinder to use on another item. Next use the rangefinder for hammer. boat anchor, etc. Seriously though the problem occurs often in the Bushnell rangefinders and it cost more to fix than to replace with a better brand. A $179.00 original cost rangefinder cost $10.00 to ship back to Bushnell and another $235.00 for repair of a non specified problem for a grand total of $245.00. I consider this a rip off from Bushnell.
