Broken camera My daughter has a FE 140 Olympus Digital Camera. We have had some problems. When you turn it on it beeps, the red light flashes, and the lenses goes in and out. The same thing happens when we try to download pictures, except that the camera will shut off, leaving the lense out. Do you have any idea what could be wrong?

Just to let you know I have got the same problem and I didn't find the answer. May be the flash light bulb is broken after an impact or so. Only thing I can think of...good luck! Sx

battery cover has small and minute parts so it breaks easily. getting a spare is difficult. only easy solution will be to take it to service center and fix it

Make sure you try and reset the camera to the factory default settings. There may be a setting that you are using that has disabled the flash functionality. To reset the camera - have the camera in shooting mode - press the menu button - left arrow to reset and press ok - you will see reset yes or no - highlight yes and press ok - camera will be back in factory settings - see if flash is able to work now.

Lens will probabaly need to be replaced. Used replacement lenses can usually be found on ebay. Mechanically inclined person can replace them quite easily. Olympus repair shops are usually quite expensive and it's almost better to get new camera rather than have them repair it.
