Depending on the problem, you may not need one. I always consult RUss at New Jersey Factory Service first. He has repaired the ones I had at Radio stations before. There are some models that require only the manufacture change the CD section. That is probably because they have no original parts and have to jury rig or substitute the part. If there are no parts and it is past 7 years, they might say no more parts and that will be that. Contact Russ.

You need to get an Windows Operating system XP
Option 1:
Boot from your CD and follow the directions to start Recovery Console. Then:
Attrib -H -R -S C:\Boot.ini DEL C:\Boot.ini BootCfg /Rebuild Fixboot
Option 2:
Boot from your CD and follow the directions below to start Recovery Console.
Insert the Setup compact disc (CD) and restart the computer. If prompted, select any options required to boot from the CD. When the text-based part of Setup begins, follow the prompts; choose the repair or recover option by pressing R.
If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access from the Recovery Console. When prompted, type the Administrator password. (if you didn't create one try pressing enter).
At the system prompt, type Recovery Console commands; type help for a list of commands, or help commandname for help on a specific command.
Most likely you will need to expand the file from the CD. The command would be expand d:\i386\hal.dl_ c:\windows\system32\hal.dll. Substitute d: for the drive letter of your CD. Once you have expanded the file type "exit" to exit the Recovery Console and restart the computer.

You need only measure the diameter in MM and put that and "CD/Cassette drive belt" into google and you should find a supplier. A few MM either side shouldn't make difference. Drive belts etc are none specific makers by the way.

The most difficult part of the repair will be finding the correct size replacement 0-Ring that fits your particular specific CD-ROM Optical Drive. Any decent repair shop should have a large supply of replacement belts. The Part number isn't necessary. Just take the old one in and get a new one just 2mm smaller than the original. Some repair shops won;t sell them because they don't want you repairing your own property but a decent shop should sell you one.

You need to match the belt to the specific make and model of dryer. There are several online appliance repair parts suppliers that can provide great assistance, and in some cases, the OEM part number for the belt. With the latter, appliance outlets like Lowes should be able to verify that the belt purchased is the part needed. In addition, check your owner's manual for a specific part number for the drive belt.
