well dont mess with it u just need to call you phone service company and they will give you your sim code/puk code samething

I too has the same problem.

There can be to problems

1.either with the corrupted sim
If that is the case ask for a duplicate one

2. Or due to the sim card slot of n73
(mine was this case)

this can be solved by just re inserting the sim card and pressing slightly for a short time and switch on the phone.

the best way is

2nd one:


if the phone is under warranty show it to a near nokia service centre and they will fix it.
if not under warranty, a small charge will be taken from you


3rdly
if you tried to flash n73 it will pop up

and depending on the lock status and logs the solution depends.( in the case of flashing)

better go fo the 2nd one
