No cables/card reader for camera/ISSI Serial Flash Module.
I misplaced my cables for my Dimera 2000 Digital Camera and cannot upload photos to my computer. I also cannot find a card reader for the ISSI Serial Flash Module. Help!
Re: No cables/card reader for camera/ISSI Serial Flash...
I have the same problem. I found this site:
http://www.carlmcmillan.com/relisys_dimera_3500.htm
which has a link on how to make your own interface cable. Haven't tried it yet--just found the site.
Good luck!

No. In fact, downloading from this camera will be a real challenge. It is designed to download over an RS232 serial port using a special cable. Have you got the cable? There is a website that has specs for the cable and driver download if you are technically inclined: Relisys Dimera 3500
If it were me, I would simply remove the memory card an read it in a universal card reader.
ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER If your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device oran external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy the photos to your computer.Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. Youcan copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off yourmemory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing anyprograms.
You need to import the photos to your PC to view them. There are two
ways to do so: connecting a camera directly to the computer via USB
(Universal Serial Bus) cable and by using a flash memory reader. Using
the flash memory reader is considered the fastest method to transfer
images. Some of the popular types of flash memory card readers are
Secure Digital (SD), Compact Flash (CF), Memory Stick (MS), Multimedia
Card (MMC) and Smart Media (SM). Here is how you can use the reader to
view photos from your digital camera.
A card reader is usually faster and doesn't depend upon extra power, most/nearly all pros use a card reader, its all a question of preference I'm a keen photographer but I use my camera direct to transfer photos.
You can take SD memory card from your camera and use a card reader to upload photos to computer. If you don't have a card reader, the easiest way is to buy a new cable - any standard MiniUSB cable will fit.
Use a card reader to download your pictures. It may solve the problem. After you do, format the card in the camera. Be sure you use a high quality card.
Eliminate the use of software and cables connected to the camera. And use a CARD READER. It's a plug and play device, $8 to $12 walmart, big lots etc. It plugs into a USB port on your computer and you take the memory card out of your camera and plug it into the card reader. Once card is in, go to "MY COMPUTER", and find the new device - open it up and there are all your pictures. A camera memory card is basicly nothing but a flash drive. Now you can do anything you want to the pics. Photo shop them, delete what you want, etc. HAVE FUN!
There are several options to connect your digital camera to your computer to upload your pictures. One method is to connect your camera using the supplied USB cable. Most operating systems will have a built in photo program to at least import the files to your computer. The other option is to purchase an external card reader. You would hook the card reader up via USB and then insert your memory card into the reader, which prompts uploading of the files to your computer. Most card reader units come with uploading software.
You could avoid this problem by using a simple cheap SD card reader. Remove the SD card from your camera, insert the SD card in the reader and connect the reader to your PC/Laptop by a USB cable. You can then useWindows to view and upload your pictures
