I have it threaded properly per the diagram, have clicked over the spindle to the "bobbin winding" position, and have pulled out the wheel to disengage the needle mechanism. But nothing happens when I step on the foot pedal - I can hear the mechanism running inside, but the spindle doesn't rotate.
I have a lot of experience with sewing machines, and know that the bobbin spindle is supposed to rotate so the bobbin winds. But nothing is happening. Help!
SOURCE: Winding the Bobbin
If you have a top winding bobbin on the right hand side it may be that the winder is seizing up, you must put a drop of oil now and again down the spindle otherwise it goes dry very quickly at high speed.
SOURCE: Bobbin is not winding correctly
slide plate may be worn - i had the same problem. try holding down the center of the bobbin with a pin while slide plate is in the winding position.
SOURCE: bobbin spindle won't spin
Check the bobbin winder rubber, it may be worn or broken and insufficient friction against handwheel to turn.........or a thread jam around spindle is stopping the spin. In this case, carefully unwind, DO NOT cut thread.
SOURCE: bobbin won't come off the winding spindle
Your bobbin was basically crushed slightly, to remove it simply take the thread off the bobbin and it will come off very easily.
When you wind a bobbin on a Husqvarna and you leave the machine threaded to wind the bobbin through the needle, you must take the thread down below the foot (a metal foot only) before you take the thread up to the bobbin winder. If you take the thread directly from the needle it creates too much tension on the thread and crushes the center of the bobbin so that either you can't get the bobbin off the spindle or in some cases it damages the bobbin completely.
Some threads, the kind that can stretch slightly when pulled, shouldn't be wound through the needle at all. Instead go through the first guilde and then straight down to the little metal "button like" guide and then to the bobbin. It will create much less tension on the thread and wind it much better.
