The display is damaged. This is how this series dies. In some cases the receiver still works except you can't see the display. Samsung service center can repair it, nobody else.
ritchaddison, Problem could be inside monitor. If "cold-cathode-fluoresscent-lamps" fail to stay lit. problem might be the "electronic ballast" circuit needs work done on it. Also check the "switch-mode-power-supply" for typical failure modes that result in "black screen" complaints. Remember this!! Your monitor no different than any other brand of CCFL back-lit LCD display in it's basic design and operation. Software not problem. Only you or qualified electronics technician will repair this unit. Read my and other LCD monitor tech's fixya profiles to make decision on what option you will use on 910mp unit. 12fixlouie

Hi this sounds like your computer is in hibernation mode as opposed to shut down mode. Could you check and see as if running Vista many people assume that clicking on the brown power type selection under start that they are shutting down where as this actually only hibernation mode and clicking on the little arrow to the right of this and selecting shutdown is the way to go.
I hope this helps
You are simply in blackout mode. This is so at night you aren't blinded by the glow of a screen. Here are instructions right from the manual to turn on or off.
Blackout Mode On and Off
When Blackout mode is turned on, the monitor display will turn off to
reduce power consumption.
This additional power enhances the sound quality.
1 Touch [VISUAL] on the main source screen.
The VISUAL selection screen is displayed.
2 Touch [OFF].
The backlit-display portion goes out.
3 Touch [OFF] again to cancel the display backlight.
• To make the setting, set to “Setting the VISUAL Touch Button” (page
34).
• If any button on the unit is pressed during Blackout mode, the
function will be displayed for 5 seconds to show the operation before
returning to Blackout mode.
• While the backlighting is turned off, the function indicator
The Z6m is defaulted for the backlight to stay in dim mode. In order to change this setting, go to initial setup, display timeout-1 min and it will then turn off. Hope this helps!
