I am the owner of an italian arc welding machine, Imperia master 250M. The problem is that the pwm controller (l5991,ic) in (pwm2000card), doesn't control the duty cycle of pulses. The d/c is controlled by a NE555 and a lm324 circuitry(fba1001card). I'm looking forward for your help.

The voltage is controlled three ways, your manual setting you fine tune setting and the distance you have from the work space on most welders the fine tune only adjusts about 5 volts some newer models goes to ten but lets say 5 so if your running 7018 1/8 inch rod at 105 amps you may have to adjust it with the fine tune knob to half or 3/4 of the way to get the right flow pattern if using this pattern ccccc if your using zig zag so the distance is important it should not be more than twice the wide of the rod depending on what type of welding posting your doing overhead or vertical or flat position. It sounds like you need to change out your SCR chip on your motherboard; Miller makes one that i have installed on all our 350xl's, I don't have the number on hand but i can get it for you tomorrow.

1) Make sure to use a DMX terminator. (This is basically a XLR connector with a 120 ohm resistor soldered between pins 2 & 3)

2) Plug the cables in the DMX IN/OUT connectors... not the master slave one.
