Pioneer GM-D7400M Amplifier Flashing

Hi,
I have the above amplifier and it has been connected to a sony 1300W 4ohm Sub. After installing it, it was awesome. It went for half an hour and then it started flashing. I have tried connecting it straight to the battery with no speaker or RCA's connected and it still does it. I guess it is in protection mode but i have no idea why. No fuses have blown.
Does anyone know what this means?
Cheers, Paul

Sent it to service center because the problem is inside the amp -sometimes electronics component failed by heat or bad ventilation or poor design work

I wired my dvc sub woofers to 4 ohms and bridged my pioneer gm-5400 amp and it cuts off when i turn the volume up.

1. Check if your power cable is of adequate Gauge 2. Try turning the volume down from the amplifier gain level 3. You could even check to see if your battery is on it's way out and just cant feed the amplifier with the power it needs. (very rare case) do the car lights dim when the volume is not really that loud? 4. There could be an error on the way the subs are connected, double check that you have absolutely configured them to run @ 4OHM. could be checked with a multimeter before connecting to the amplifier. 5. Another rare case is sometimes the fuse block expands when it heats up on loud volumes and can have contact issues so try tightening the socket that the fuse goes into. 6. It could also be a problem with one of the sub woofer or even the amplifier. more details might help me better understand the problem, but i hope this helps. dreamsystems

I parelled one 15" q power subwoofer to my brideged pioneer amp.The amp got really hot and blew a fuse. How should I wire my dvc subwoofer to the briged amp.

Hello sir, hi, YOU DON'T bridge no more speakers, this upsets the impedance load of the amp. to install another sub-woofer, get another amplifier. You may have damaged your power amplifier, If you experience repeated fuse blows, your power amplifier is now SHORTED. This needs IC amplifier replacement.

I have a Pioneer GM-5300T amp wired to a 10 inch kicker sub. The music plays throughout the speakers of my car but the sub goes in and out. I noticed that the amp's power light dims when the sub goes in...

Hello pburgfootbal,

You do not specify which Kicker sub you have or how it is wired to the amp. The GM-5300T is only stable to 4ohms in bridged mode and if your sub is a 4ohm DVC with the coils in parallel, it presents a 2ohm load. If the sub is 2ohm DVC with the coils in parallel, the load is only 1ohm. Either configuration would be too low of an impedance for the amp in bridged mode. I'd check the sub specifications and make sure that the wiring configuration properly matches it to the amp.

Hope this helps.

Amp dosnt work right

your amp cant handle the impedance of your subs i.e your running a 2ohm sub on a 4ohm amp!

Change the wiring on the sub so instead of running at 2ohm your run at 4

if you need to know how to wire up your sub to run at 4 then take a look at this wiring diagram

take a look at option 2

Hope this helps if so please dont forget to rate :)

Sony XM-1252GTR Amplifier

Can it power the subs? Yes.

Can it make them crank? Well, that all depends on your expectations. That amp/sub combo is going to give each sub about 125W, which isn't much. But if it's what you have, it's better than nothing. You might also consider using only one sub and bridging the amp. This would put about 340W on the one sub, which is much more reasonable.

Can I Add two 12" subs and 2 pairs of 6"x9" speakers to my amplifier

you could try to wire the subs in a series which all positives are connected in a line from amp to pos of sub to pos of other sub , same for the neg.
