Dell Inspiron One 2305 Desktop Computer (AMD Athlon II X2 GB4GB) (DDDAEY11) Logo

After the computer has been on for awhile, the screen does this jumpy horizontal lines flickering thing. Usually if we turn of the computer or put it in sleep mode and then restart it after awhile it will be o.k. for awhile, and then it starts flickering again. What's up and how can I fix it?

SOURCE: Dell XPS420 Freezes after being in sleep mode

Is there a reason why you cant turn off sleep mode and just let the screen saver kick in? You can do this by right clicking on your desktop and goto properties. Then ScreenSaver, then click on power.
Change these values to never and then go back and set your screen saver...

Hope this Helps...

SOURCE: Computer goes to sleep before it even starts up

Hi there, it appears as though the Power Options are set too short a time and the PC is going into sleep mode. Go to Start menu/Control Panel and look for Power options. Set them all to "never" This will prevent her PC from going into sleep mode. Good Luck.

Plug the monitor into another computer to determine if the monitor is damaged or working properly. You can also plug another monitor into your computer to determine the same thing.

The model would have helped. Generally horizontal lines in the picture come from a defective panel and the set isn't fixable, you could try replacing the t-con board but chances of fixing it are slim

Samsung 5271f. Picture usually great but sometimes when an image with horizontal lines appears (e.g. crawl at the bottom of the screen) picture jumps and flickers. Reverts back after crawl disappears.

Vertical lines showing up after being on for awhile

Eh, I can't be too sure, but it sounds like it's either a heat issue, a signal issue, or a backlight issue. Either way, if it's still under warranty I'd send it in.

White horizontal lines flicker and screen goes off.

check the wiring inside the monitor, pull the sceen out and move the wires with the screen on so you can see when it's working. then tape the wires where it works.

Screen gets horizontal lines and jumpy screen.

Your problem is capacitors CP204 and CP205 by the 9 volt regulator on the main board. Cp204 is a 47 microfard @ 50 volt and the other is 100 microfard@ 16 volts

Compaq presario v2000 monitor is having horizontal purple lines that flicker.

Try reloading the drivers, delete the device in device manager and reboot. It should then pick up the drivers and reload them, if that does not work I would suspect the screen is on its way out (flickering normally means the screen or its connection is bad)
