Webcam failure

Double check you drivers for the webcam to see if they are still working.

Go to control panel, system, device manager (hardware for XP).

Locate your web cam, IF you see a RED X than your driver is messed up or missing.

I would try reinstalling your software for the web cam. Either via cd or go to the vendor's web site.

My webcam always seems to go very dark. no matter how much a twiddle with the contrast or brightness in the setting, suddenly one da it just became dark for no reason. hod do i fix this?

Reinstall the driver freeware of your web cam to see it if there is file missing to use your web cam.
Run the setup of your web cam installer to fix it.
The restart the PC to make it sure it work.

My A4TECH PK-636MA WEB CAM WON'T WORK AFTER INSTALLATION

remove all previous web cam drivers from the pc ...
reinstall the driver ...and after you plug it ...let the wizard to search for the driver and do something that seam like reinstalling second time ...
if it will gave you some errors for missing files (example: missing dll.d50 or something like this ) just click browse and locate the file manually from the installation cd ...or from the folder where is installed it depends...sometimes I dont know why ...just do not see some files...maybe its something about compatibility ...or ...OS )
if after this is still not working ...see maybe is not a webcam that will work with your operating system ...some dont work on vista ...or windows 7 ...
